WeEk 13 & HaPpY nEwS!

Parker is now 13 weeks old and 3 months old. I say it time and time again, but time is flying by faster and faster each week. I feel like if I blink he will be all grown up. He is now in size 2 diapers. It seems like he was barely in size 1. Hopefully, he will be in these a little longer. We are slowly moving into the next size up on clothes. I can’t believe he is in size 2 diapers and 3-6 month clothing. He is coming really close to rolling from his back to his stomach, but he is not quite there. Parker has found his feet and loves to grab his toes, especially when I am trying to change his diaper. It makes it rather difficult to get a diaper off and back on. Another recent discovery is his thumb. He is full on sucking on his thumb. It has me worried. I really hope he doesn’t make it a habit, but he isn’t sucking on it all the time just every once in a while. He has started sleeping in his crib this past weekend. He sleeps in it until he wakes up for his feeding and then he goes back to sleep in his bassinet. We are trying to make it a smooth transition for him and so far so good, for the most part anyway. He isn’t sleeping as long as he usually does, but I think that as he gets used to his crib he will fall back into a routine.

We, also, have some very exciting news. We have been pre-qualified to buy a house! We are so excited! We met with our realtor today and will start looking at houses early next week. Hopefully, we will find something we like in our price range. I am thrilled

just thinking about having our own house! It will be so nice to be in a place that won’t be for a year or so. I didn’t even want to put up pictures here because it just wan’t permanent enough. I hate moving, but it will be nice to know that we will be moving into a place that is OURS. We have to close on the new house before November 30th so we can take advantage of the tax credit. So, wish us luck!

I will keep you up to date on Parker, of course, and our house hunt!

I am a horrible blogger...

I really do like blogging, I promise. I would like to make excuses and say that we have been really busy, but I don’t think that is quite true. We have definitely been staying busy with all sorts of fun stuff.

Parker will be 13 weeks tomorrow and on Sunday he hits the 3 month mark. I know I say this a lot but, it has gone by so fast...maybe too fast! He is just growing and developing so fast. I have recently weighed him and came up with about 14.5 pounds and he is about 24ish inches long (it is really difficult to measure an infant). His personality is coming out more and more everyday! He loves to giggle and voice his opinions. Matt can get the most giggles and coos from him. Parker his working on rolling from his back to his stomach, I think he is coming pretty close but he hasn't done it yet! I really didn't think it was possible, but he is even more curious about the world around him. He is always looking around. I would love to know what he is thinking. Recently, we started putting him on his play mat and he seems very intrigued. He even grabs & bats at some of the toys.

Last weekend, we traveled to Sheridan to see the family. It was so nice to visit them. Matt even took Friday and Monday off of work so that we could relax and not feel rushed. We spent some time with my parents with Matt’s parents. On Saturday, my dad and Matt went golfing and my mom and I went shopping downtown and then my parents had Matt’s parents over for a little BBQ. I love when we can all get together! On Sunday, we went to church with Matt’s family and Matt worked on fixing his parent’s computer.

On our way back to Monument on Monday we stopped in Laramie. We were able to eat a late lunch with Stacy Ann and Ryan. It was so nice to catch up with them, since we hadn't seen them since 2 weeks before we moved. I miss them so much, we used to do a dinner almost every week! We, also, hung out with Nikki and Cameron for a while and that was really fun. Him and Parker were so interested in each other I can’t wait until they are a bit older!

Matt is designing a website for Julie’s quilt store, The Quilter’s Fix. So that is pretty exciting and of course Matt loves every second of it. He loves to learn new things and actually bought a book so that he can make the site a shopping cart! He is also working on getting the store onto the web with Facebook and Twitter.

This might actually be the last blogspot entry because we have bought our own domain and we are trying to get the site up. The new website is www.hustonfam.com. It will be awesome once it is up. There is a welcome page, about us page, blog page and a photo album page. With the photo portion you can view it as a slideshow or an individual. Hopefully, you can save the pictures to your computer and even print them. I will let you know when the site is up!

Weeks 9 & 10

Newest Family Photo

Holy September!!! I can’t believe Fall is just around the corner! This Summer has flown by!

I am a bad blogger! Sorry I missed last week and I am sorry in advance on how long this post will probably be and how many photos there are. But what can I say I love taking pictures and showing them off!

Giggles for Mommy

Parker is 10 weeks old now. In the past two weeks he has come to really love playing. He has three things that he really likes to play with. One of them is a red hula monkey and we call her Mallory. He loves to play with her and give her “kisses.” Then there is a little frog that we put in his car seat whenever we go anywhere. It has these crinkly things on it and a mirror and he loves to make the frog crinkle! Then he has a stuffed monkey that is just the right size and he loves to cuddle with it. I didn’t think it was possible but he is becoming even more vocal and smiling so much more! Actually, last night he was sleeping in my arms and started “talking” it was so cute to hear him babble in his sleep. He just melts our hearts!

Parker & Mallory the Monkey

Matt and I have recently started a new exercise program. It is called P90X. It is extre

mely intense! But it feels great! With the pregnancy, I wasn’t the only one to gain the weight. So it is nice to be working towards OUR pre pregnancy weights and bodies! Pre pregnancy body here I come!

Grandpa & Parker

This past weekend, my parents came down to visit for the long weekend. It was so nice to have them down for more than a day and a half. On Saturday, the boys played video games and my mom and I went shopping. But we only made it to Babies ‘R Us. But that is okay with me, that is the kind of shopping I like to do these days anyway. We actually got Parker the cutest Halloween costume. It is a full on monkey suit. It is adorable and I cannot wait for October now! When we out to eat on Saturday night I had two margaritas with my mom and I was feeling it for sure! It was a lot of fun. On Sunday we went to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. It was so much fun! My parents loved it. Even though Parker will not remember the trip I’m sure he loved it! Haha! He actually did stare at one of the gorillas for about 5 minutes and the gorilla did the same thing. It was pretty neat!

No plans yet for this coming weekend, but I think the following weekend we are headed to Sheridan. Matt has been dying to go on a road trip since we go the Pilot so I think it is time.

Coming soon: Zoo pictures!!! :)

Lots of Fun!

Parker is now 2 months old and is growing like a weed! We went to his 2 month checkup yesterday and they weighed him, measured him checked him out and gave him a shot. He now weighs 11 pounds 2 ounces and is 22 inches tall! He is getting so big and our doctor said that he is going to be over 6 feet tall. I was pretty excited about that because everybody on my side of the family is, well, short. All of his reflexes are great and he is as healthy as can be. Parker even rolled over smiled and talked for our doctor. She was pretty impressed! He took his shot like a champ and was just a little tired yesterday afternoon. He did not like his oral vaccination though, he actually gagged when they were trying to give it to him. It was pretty cute. Our doctor also said that his gums are thinning out and getting ready to break through. She said that by the time he is 4 months old he will probably be getting his teeth in. I can’t believe it, but I half expected it. It will definitely make nursing interesting. I will not give up though. My goal is 6 months and I am determined to make it!

Parker exhausted from Saturday's excursions

Last week was a very fun week. I actually got pooped on! It was pretty entertaining! I was nursing him and he stopped and grunted. I heard him let one out and then I felt something very warm on my lap and sure enough I had poop all over me. I went and changed him out of his soiled clothes and his covered diaper. The very next day he was laying in his boppy on our bed and let one out and sure enough there was a puddle of poop all over our bed, him and the boppy. It was a very interesting week for sure!

Matt and I bought a new car last week too! After our trip from Sheridan we were fed up with the lack of room we had in the Subaru. If we are going to make that trip again we decided we needed to be more comfortable and that meant more room. So we ended up with a Honda Pilot. It seats 8 and it is huge compared to our car. We love it and it is fully loaded. Heated leather seats, navigation, everything it is awesome and so comfortable!

Parker getting loves from Great Grandma!

On Saturday morning we got up early and headed up to Cheyenne in our new car. We visited my grandparents so that Parker could meet his Great Grandm

a and Grandpa. It was so nice to visit with them and Parker so was good while we were there. My Grandma just loved on him the entire time we were there! My aunt and uncle also came over to my grandparents house to see Parker.

Great Grandpa and Parker

Again, we did not stay put for the weekend, but I am determined to stay in the Springs and do nothing this weekend. Hopefully, we can accomplish that. It would be so nice to relax especially since my parents will be here for Labor day weekend. I really am going to try to update more than once a week so that these aren’t so long. If you haven’t checked it out already check out Little Man rolling over. The video is in the previous post! Love you all!

Big News!!!!

Parker Rolled over for the first time on the afternoon of August 25, 2009! Two days before he turns two months old. So a little ahead of schedule. We are so proud of him so we had to share a video of our Little Man's milestone! I'll update on the rest of us and our weekend tomorrow after Parker's 2-month check-up!

Parker's 1st Road Trip & 7 Weeks

7 weeks of Parker have come and gone faster than I ever could have thought! He seems to be changing everyday. Like I said last week, he has discovered his hands and is now holding on to objects. He does this thing with a rattle where he holds it and moves his hand and then stops and stares at it as if he is wondering what it is and how it works. I think he is going to be a genius! He loves to kick his legs and push off of us with his legs. He is such a mover and a shaker. It is getting harder to dress him and change his diapers with all the movement. At least we are getting faster at it so that he has less time to move around. Maya is starting to catch his eye, so we will see what happens with that in the future. He is still growing so fast. We actually moved up to size 1 diapers over the weekend. Between that and not wearing newborn clothes anymore he is now an infant and not a newborn.

We went on our big trip over the weekend and it was an adventure! On Thursday afternoon we left the Springs and drove to Laramie. It is a 150 mile drive that translated into a 4 hour drive. It was ridiculous! We had straight bumper to bumper traffic from Castle Rock to Fort Collins. It was so frustrating, we didn’t even see any real accidents, people were just driving like idiots. We found out later that the traffic stemmed from a

Rockies game ending and Obama being in town. When we got to Laramie we had dinner with the Stotlers. It was so nice to just hang out with them and enjoy some good food and better company. Cameron is getting so big and is doing so much. I can’t wait for him and Parker to interact! On Friday morning, Matt actually had to work for a couple of hours and then we hit up Ace. Parker met some of Matt’s former co-workers and supervisors. They, of course, loved him. Then we headed to ACPE. I was so excited to see their new building and all the people I used to work with. The building is gorgeous and I’m kind of sad that I never got to work in it. But, my job now is millions of times better! I really loved seeing everybody and showing off Parker. He was a hit by the way, even though he started getting a bit cranky from being passed around.

After our Laramie visits, we headed to Sheridan. It actually took us close to the same amount of time to drive 300 miles as it did to drive 150! On Friday night, we went out to Dayton to have dinner for Julie’s birthday. Parker met his Great Grandma and was spoiled with cuddles by his Grandma all night! On Saturday, my mom and I went downtown to just do a little bit of shopping and then we went to the last part of Henley’s baby shower. She looks so cute pregnant! It is like a perfect basketball. Then on Saturday night, we went out to eat at the Chop House. It was my favorite place to eat in Sheridan, not so much anymore. On Sunday, we went to church with Matt’s family and introduced Parker to everybody there. After that we went to lunch and then headed back to Monument.

The trip home was HORRIBLE! Parker was super cranky and we had to stop a lot to calm him down and the Maya got sick all over the front seat, so we had to clean that up. It was not fun and it took 9 hours. This trip should only take about 6.5-7 hours. It was not fun and with all of our stuff in the car it was overly cramped. And we didn't even over pack at all. We really only brought the stuff we needed. We were so happy to finally get home!

This weekend, we really don’t know what we are doing. Hopefully we will just stay home and relax, maybe even be bums. But we will see. Next week, Parker goes to the doctor for his 2 month (yes 2 month...wow) check-up and poor little guy will get his shots. He will probably be fine, but I will probably cry. I will update you all next week and if we are lucky it will be a lot shorter than this one. Sorry! Love you all and Happy Birthday to my Mom on Saturday! :)

Where did July go?

Blowing Bubbles

Parker is now 6 weeks old.  I have to ask myself daily, where did July go? I feel like it was just yesterday when we saw two pink lines. Now we have a baby who weighs a whopping 9.5 pounds. I can’t believe how big he is getting. Most people we meet think he is so tiny, but to me and Matt, he is big. I mean, he is barely in 0-3 month clothing! He only has about 2 or 3 things that he can wear that are in newborn size. Honestly, I’m a little relieved. His newborn clothes were getting a little worn out since we didn’t think he would be in them very long we didn’t have much of them.  This week he is discovering his hands. He tries to put his hand in his mouth and gets it there about half the time the other half he misses by just a little bit. He ends up hitting himself in the chin and then gets frustrated that he didn’t make it to his mouth.  Our Little Man is also getting more curious about the world around him. He is looking at everything around him all the time. Ever since he discovered how to move his head around he hasn’t stopped looking at everything. Also, this week we started some flash cards on my iPod. He loves it! He just stares at the screen when we go through them. His attention span isn’t that long though so it’s only for about 5 minutes.  Parker is becoming such a Mommy’s boy too. He loves to cuddle with me and sometimes I’m the only one who can comfort him. I love that I can make him feel better just by loving on him. I think it drives Matt crazy that sometimes Parker just wants me. But, I’m sure that there will be a time where he just wants his Daddy.

Hanging out before a car ride

In other updates, Matt is very busy at work this week. He is loving the change of pace. I would love to tell you what he is doing, but I don’t completely understand it. All I know is that he still loves his job and the people he works with!

Listening to Daddy read

This is our big travel weekend and I am very excited. Thursday we are driving to Laramie. We are going to have dinner with Nikki, Gary and Cameron and then maybe we will go swimming at our hotel. Then on Friday morning we are going to visit Ace and ACPE, so that everyone can meet Parker. After that we are going to make the drive to Sheridan to see our families. It has been forever since we’ve been there, so I can’t wait! I will post pictures next week of our first road trip with Little Man.

Has it really been 5 weeks?

Everyday it is so hard to believe that we have a baby and such a beautiful baby at that! Parker is growing up so fast already. It's an amazing to watch him change everyday. He is officially social smiling and it is the best! He has a great smile. His voice continues to become more prominent and noticeable. Last Friday night he slept through the night! It was amazing! He slept from 11 to 6:20. I had so much energy because of it! Now he has slept through the night two more times! I love it! I think he is going through a growth spurt now because he is eating about every hour to hour and a half and then he is sleeping a lot too. It must take a lot out of Little Man to do all that growing!

This past weekend my mom came down to visit us. My dad was supposed to join her, but he had some work things come up and had to stay in Sheridan. We were pretty disappointed, but at least my momgot to be here. Parker, also, got to meet more family. My Aunt Allyson and her daughter Larissa, drove up from Cheyenne to meet him. It was really nice for him to meet more family.

Daddy & Parker having cuddle time

This week -end we are just going to relax since we will have such a busy weekend in Sheridan next weekend and we have pretty much done something every weekend since Little Man was born. But I’m sure Parker will keep us super busy anyway!

4 weeks!

Parker is now a month old! I cannot believe it. He is growing so fast. Parker has found his voice and is a very vocal little boy. I think he likes the sound of his own voice. It is adorable! He has also started to laugh. It happens mostly in his sleep but it is slowly coming out when he is awake. I think his head control gets better everyday too! I haven't had to supplement any formula. I am very proud of that. I'm told that he will go through another growth spurt soon and if I can stick that out then I won't have a problem nursing him in the future.  Parker is sleeping so well. A couple of nights ago he slept for 6 hours...straight! It was amazing. But he mostly sleeps for about 4-5 hours at a time and that means only one feeding at night. We are so lucky to have such a good baby.

Last weekend, we ventured to Larkspur, Co which is only about 10 miles North of us. They host a Renaissance Festival every Summer. We met some friends of ours, Rory and Miranda there. It was really neat. Everybody was all dressed up, there were a ton of little shops, they had renaissance food and shows were happening all around us. It was so neat. You really can't see it all in one day. We decided that we will go back next year to see more. Matt keeps telling me that he is going to dress up for next year.  I really hope not!

In the coming weeks we have some fun stuff going on. This weekend my parents are coming to visit us. They say they are coming to visit all 3 of us but I think it is to see Parker! Haha! I don't know what we are going to do yet, but there is so much going all the time down here that I'm sure we will figure something out. Next weekend we don't have anything planned...yet. The following weekend I am very excited about. We are taking a little trip. Thursday night we are driving to Laramie to see some friends and show Parker off to our former co-workers. Then we are going to drive to Sheridan to visit our families. We haven't been to Sheridan in a very long time and I cannot wait. It will be interesting to be the car that much with Parker. I'm sure it will be a longer trip than we are used to. But we don't mind!

Next week I will update on Parker and our adventures of this upcoming weekend!

Wellness Appointment

Yesterday we took Parker to see the pediatrician for a check up. He weighs 7 pounds, 7 ounces! I could not believe it! He is also 20 1/2 inches long! They were very impressed with his progress and how fast he is developing. He is moving his head very well and when they put him in a certain position he is getting very close to rolling over. Parker is doing great and is very healthy. We actually don't have to go back to the doctor's office until he is 2 months old because he is so healthy.

Tomorrow we are taking him to get his first professional pictures taken and I am very excited about it. I will post more after this weekend and hopefully some pictures!

Have a great weekend! Love and miss you all!

The past 2 weeks...

Wow! Parker is just over 2 weeks old! It has been an amazing 2 weeks. It seems like just yesterday I was released from the hospital, but at the same time it seems so far away.

Since we've been home there has been a lot going on. My mom stayed with us for a week, helping out with house work, feeding us and helping us adjust to having a newborn. Matt's mom stayed with us for a couple days too. She was originally going to fly here for the induction and since she already bought the ticket she came down for a few days anyway. My dad came down for the 4th of July weekend and so did Matt's parents. It was really nice to have the families here to meet Little Man! On the Sunday after the 4th, our good friends Nikki, Gary and Cameron stopped by to see us and meet Parker. It was really nice to see them since they live in Laramie and it had been a month since we had seen them last. After the 4th of July weekend we were on our own to adjust to being new parents.

I must say I was a little nervous but it went wonderfully! Parker is such a good baby and it makes things much easier. In fact he is sleeping on my chest while I type this out! He is sleeping at night for about 4 or 5 hours at a time, sometimes longer! Our pediatrician told us to let him sleep and he will wake up when he needs us! Towards the end of the week he started being hungry all the time! Eating a ton. Our pediatrician warned us this would happen because he would be going through a growth spurt. It has been interesting. I feel like after I get done feeding, burping and changing him he is ready to eat again. But he is just growing and developing like mad! Smiling, cooing, focusing on us and following us with his eyes and head.  It's insane! But, I am adjusting to everything and learning to get things done around the house while he is sleeping.

Matt has been amazing! Whenever he is home he is just all over helping out and changing diapers, burping him and just holding him! It is adorable. He is an awesome dad and it's like he's been doing it forever! Everything has just came so naturally to him.

Matt and I also celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary last week! We didn't do a whole lot for anniversary. But we did go out to eat and that was really nice. I can't believe we have been married for 2 years and together for 4 years.
It has gone by so fast and so many thing have changed since then! I have never been more in love with him! Everyday it grows more and more.

We are headed to a wellness check up at the pediatricians on Thursday and I will try to update on that and everything else. I know that I am missing a ton of what has happened over the past 2 weeks, but I'm pretty sure it is going to be feeding time soon. I will update later this week when he is 3 weeks old...wow!

Parker Russell Huston

Our little boy has finally arrived!

On Saturday, June 27th at 6:45 a.m. we were blessed with a son! Parker weighed in at 6 pounds 9 ounces and  19 inches long! He is absolutely beautiful with blond hair and blue eyes!

Friday evening I started having contractions that were any where from 2 to 5 minutes apart. After about 4 hours we decided t
o make the trip to the hospital to see if I was really in labor. We arrived at the hospital about 9:30 or 10:00 p.m. After being checked, I was only 1.5 cm dilated. I was told to walk around for an hour and see if I progressed. Matt and I walked up and down the hallway for a very long hour. When they checked me again I was still only 1.5 cm dilated so they sent me home. Being sent home was so disappointing and I cried almost the entire drive home. My parents actually arrived in Colorado just as I was being released from triage. We went back to the house and started to unwind. Matt enjoyed some pizza and I was about to eat a pop tart when I heard a small pop. I honestly thought it was a gas bubble. I was very wrong! When I stood up a gush of fluid started streaming down my pants and would not stop. I just stood over my puddle shaking while my parents and Matt laughed at me. After everybody realized that my water had just broken, we all started to gather up our stuff to head to the hospital only one hour after being released. I think we surprised the hospital staff to be back there so soon! I was admitted at about 12:30 a.m. and my contractions were coming closer together and a lot stronger. I was dilated to at least 2 cm at that point. At about 2 a.m. I decided I needed some pain re
lief to take the edge off of the contractions and maybe get some sleep. But, the IV medication really didn't help that much so a little before 4 a.m. I broke down and got an epidural. I must say those things are truly amazing and nobody should deliver a baby without one. After my epidural I was dilated to about 5 cm. Right around 6 a.m. I started feeling my contractions again on my left side. I figured my epidural was wearing off and tried to overcome it. My nurse decided to check me to see how I was progressing and to everybody's surprise I was 9.5 cm. They let the doctor know that I was almost ready and by 6:15 a.m. I was feeling the contractions more and was 10 cm and ready to push. I only pushed for 30 minutes and Parker Russell was born at 6:45 a.m. It was truly amazing to finally see him and have him look in your eyes for the first time. He is absolutely beautiful and perfect. He is very healthy and scored a 9 and 10 on his APGAR after he was born.

Everything with labor and delivery was text book. I only had a small tear and I am recovering very well from it.

Parker was given his first set of shots on Saturday morning and took it like a champ. On Sunday, he had another blood test and was circumcised. Matt went with him to his circumcision and said that he did very well and he only cried when they were cleaning him up. We also found out yesterday that Parker's blood type is A- and since mine is O+ it puts him at a higher risk for jaundice. So, I am nursing him every 1 to 2 hours until my milk comes in because once it comes in his risk of jaundice dramatically drops. He is nursing wonderfully and has really taken to it without any problems on either side.

We were both told we were well enough to go home on Sunday so we were released from the hospital and spent our first night home last night. It went very well but we are both super exhausted. Luckily, my mom is staying with us for a while and has been a terrific help with everything.

Matt and I feel so blessed to finally have him here and healthy. We want to thank everybody for all the congratulations over the past few days and we can't wait for him to meet everybody!
I will try to update on everything sometime towards the end of this week or early next week!

Love you all!

8 days and counting!

Updates!
Well, on Friday I went to my doctor's appointment and it went very well! Matt was able to come too so that was a huge plus! My blood pressure hasn't gone up, but it hasn't gone down it is just stable. I haven't gained any weight in a month! I did get checked out for progress and as of Friday I am 90% effaced and 1.5 cm dilated. So nothing huge, but he did say that I had a whole lot going on down there. That made me happy! I was told that I couldn't go out of town and that I could be a little more active, but still no big trips to Wal-Mart. If Parker decides not to show up in the near future, we are scheduled for an induction on June 30th at 6:30AM! We are very excited to know that in 8 days we will be meeting our son! We are still hoping for sooner because we are getting impatient and I feel huge and I am very uncomfortable! But, with an induction I know that my mom will be here! So we will see what happens! I have another doctor's appointment on Friday, if I haven't had Parker yet, to get checked again and hopefully discuss the induction more in depth.

Other than baby news we don't have a lot going on at all! Wow we are boring people! Hopefully, Parker will be here soon, so watch for updates!

Any day now would be just fine...

So it is official. I am 37 weeks pregnant which means I am full term! Yay! Parker can come any time time now and it would be okay. I went to the doctor on Friday and almost everything was great. My blood pressure is still a little too high for comfort. So Dr. York told me I need to take it extra easy this week. In other words I am on modified bed rest. I am not supposed to be walking around a whole lot or doing pretty much anything. I was actually told to be lazy and take lots of naps. I know it sounds nice. But it really isn't that fun! It's very frustrating. Hopefully my blood pressure will be back down to normal this Friday when I go in. If it isn't, there is a possibility that I could be induced even earlier than my 39th week. Either way on Friday we will be scheduling my induction! It is so exciting to know that he is going to be here in 2 weeks! I just can't wait to see him, hold him and kiss him! Everything is ready for him! So, any day now that he wants to make his appearance would be just fine with us!

In other news, Matt is still loving his job and is very excited about this week. He is actually going to start programming this week. Up until now he has been studying code and taking a lot of classes and assessments so this is a welcome change! He also has prepared to work from home for a little while after Parker is born.

Other than that we haven't had anything else exciting happen. But when you are limited to the couch there is not a whole lot that can happen. Be on the watch for Parker's grand appearance! Hopefully it will be soon! :)

A very busy weekend!

On Friday, I went to the doctor for my checkup. I was exactly 36 weeks and everything is still right on track. I spoke to him about how important it was to have my mom at the birth and he said that as long as everything is progressing then, if we want, we can induce labor in my 39th week! That is super exciting for us because we know that sometime in the next 3 weeks we will have a beautiful baby boy! I go in for my next appointment this coming Friday and I will be considered full term! I will be checked for effacement and dilation. Hopefully there will be some good news there.

On Saturday, We went to the zoo! It was so much fun! The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is Colorado Springs' zoo and it is on the side of a mountain. The whole thing has an amazing view of the city. We spent pretty much the entire afternoon there and saw everything from zebras to monkeys to grizzly bears. I have to say my favorite was the giraffes though. You are actually face to face with them and can feed them crackers and touch them. It is the neatest thing ever! Matt and I can't wait until we can take Parker to the zoo!

On Sunday, we did a belly cast. It was really neat to see how big my belly is and the shape of it. It is a whole different pe
rspective. I plan onpainting it this week and then I will post a picture of it.  We also installed the base of the car seat and that means we are completely ready for Parker's arrival! Our bags are packed and we are ready to go!

Check in next week for updates on our doctor's visit and other fun stuff!

A few updates!

I don't have a whole lot to update on over the past few weeks, but I do have a few things.

Over Memorial Day weekend, my parents came to visit us. I was so excited to see them! Being so far away from everybody is really difficult sometimes. We went shopping, out to eat and we grilled steaks one night. It's really nice to actually have people over to our house, considering that most of the time it's just Matt, Maya and me. So, if anybody ever wants to visit they are more than welcome! We love company. We did have some surprise company on that Saturday too. Nikki, Gary and Cameron went exploring in Colorado and ended up a little further South than anticipated. So far in fact that they were able to come to our house here in Monument! It was such a nice surprise to see them. We all went out to eat. Even though it was a short visit it was still so nice!

In other news, baby Parker is doing quite well. He is getting hiccups a lot more often and his movements are starting to hurt a little bit. I guess that's what happens when you run out of room and are still getting bigger.  I will be 9 months/36 weeks pregnant this friday! I can't believe how fast it has gone by! I am so ready to meet this little guy. Our last appointment was on May 26th and everything seems to be great! My doctor was running a little late and felt bad so he gave me a FREE ultrasound! It was so nice to see our little guy again. He is developing right on schedule and very healthy. In case anybody was wondering he is still a boy. It was hard to get any decent face pictures because he is head down and ready to go. My next appointment is on Friday. During that appointment I will be checked any for progress and they will do my group b strep test.

Matt is still working hard! He has actually had a lot of classes over the past couple weeks! At least he is getting paid to go to class and not paying to go to class. That part is really nice and he seems to be learning alot. Most of what he is doing and learning is over my head. But, he loves it and that's what is important!

I think that is all for now, I guess there was a little more than I thought! Check in next week for baby updates!
